MAZNICKI, George W. Sr.

George W. Maznicki, 76, of Partidge Hill, Essex, died Saturday (February 19, 2000) in Essex. He was the husband of Rita (Grastaitis) Maznicki. Mr. Maznicki was born in Hartford on June 20, 1923, son of Walter Maznicki of Wethersfield, and the late Mary (Popiel) Maznicki. He graduated from St. Cyril and Methodius in Hartford, and attended St. Thomas Seminary, and graduated from Univ of Conn. as a physicist. He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater in the 69th Division. He was a volunteer with the International Executive Service Corps Stamford, with its foundation in Poland. He was a resident of Essex for over 35 years, and was a member of St. John’s Church, Old Saybrook, and Our Lady of Sorrows, Essex. Besides his wife and father, he is survived by his son, George W. Maznicki, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his daughters, Patricia Ann Maznicki of Los Angeles, CA., and Deborah Maznicki of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his sister, Christine Golaszewski of Wethersfield; and his grandson, Frank W. Maznicki. A memorial mass will be held TODAY, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m., at St. John’s Church, Old Saybrook. Burial will be private. The Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, is in charge of arrangements. A memorial mass will also be celebrated on Fri., Feb. 25, at 10 a.m., at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Contributions may be made in his memory to the SS. Cyril & Methodius School Fund, 35 Groton St. Hartford, CT 06106.
